USS Ponchatoula AOG 38

The little ship was named, in spirit, after a small town in Louisiana.  This first Ponchatoula  saw combat in the western pacific in 1945 and while hauling dangerous gasoline she earned a battle star in her brief career.  Her history was mostly lost until Adam Snyder, an AOG 38 Shipmate came forward with articles from the crew and Commanding Officer.  Adam also provided us with the only known picture of the original Ponchatoula.  Enjoy the Ponchatoula story.
